A top UFC lightweight recently made a surprising claim regarding a potential WWE match. With both entities being under the same banner, a potential crossover doesn't appear to be out of the realm of possibility depending on circumstances.
UFC and WWE merged to form TKO after the pro wrestling leader was acquired by Endeavor in a monumental deal that combined the massive sports and entertainment entities.
Athlete crossover between MMA and pro wrestling and vice versa is fairly common as many fighters including Ken Shamrock, Dan Severn, Ronda Rousey, and most recently Valerie Loureda (Lola Vice) have transitioned to pro wrestling.
On the other hand, there have also been WWE stars that tried their hand in MMA, with Brock Lesnar being the most notable as he set pay-per-views and won the heavyweight championship.

UFC lightweight Michael Chandler has appeared on WWE programming
UFC lightweight Michael Chandler wrestling in WWE shouldn't be ruled out, especially considering that he has already appeared on their programming before.
This past February, the former Bellator lightweight champion was a guest in attendance on an episode of Raw and even had an opportunity to cut a brief promo. Chandler used it as an opportunity to take aim at Conor McGregor as he called him out to finally settle the score in the octagon:
"What's up, Anaheim? Hey, you are now in the presence of the most exciting UFC fighter on the planet...There's a man from Ireland that's been making me wait way too long...Conor McGregor, get your candya** back to the octagon, we got some unfinished business, boys. God bless, I'll see you at the top."
